THE NAME ALLAH: PART 3

I went back to Muar a couple a weeks ago for a meeting and on the way back to KL, I dropped by a Pak Imam’s house to give to him some donated copies of the Holy Quran. He required those copies to revitalize the recitation of the Holy book at the surau in his kampong.

So for a brief moment we talked on the current issue of the RM100M Pig facility in Selangor and some of his views, as expected, were

- The faith of Muslims nowadays especially in our country is very low; he illustrated his views with the clothing of the young and modern Malays which are not in conformity with Islamic practices, the drugs problem prevalent among our youth, the free mixing of male and female without boundaries etc

- The proliferation of political issues with slanted religious sentiments incited for the advancement of their political ambitions

- The issue of “Hukum” which takes into account the Syariah within the realities of the situation and location on the ground

.

On the issue of the Hukum, since he considered himself not an expert to talk of the matter, we left the discussion as it is.

Unsatisfied I continued my search and as referred in my earlier posting, I finally found Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, the Muthi Kerajaan Perlis website at http://drmaza.com/ which also has an English section on his works. His articles are also posted Berita and Bernama

Among the topics covered are

  1. Beza Antara Merebut Nama Allah Dan Mempertahankan Akidah
  2. Mufti Perlis Harap Peraturan Peluk Islam Tidak Dilakukan Tergesa-Gesa
  3. Komen Mufti Perlis Tentang Isu Babi Diselangor.
  4. Identity Crisis Causes Us To Loose Direction
  5. A Period Of Fitnah Is Storming Our Country

Upon reading some his articles, those issues which the Mufti took into deliberation in forming his views, concerns and perspectives indeed generally conformed to the religious teachings that I had been taught before and in congruence with some of my own researches I personally undertook all this while, thus were consistent with the perceptions I hold so dearly.

There are other topics of interest found in the Mufti’s website which the readers would be able to ponder and reflect on their messages, both apparent and found in between the lines and come to their own conclusions. Thus I believe it would be helpful if I could help disseminate the Mufti’s views, concerns and perspectives in ensuring that we Muslims, God Willing, be made aware of the prevailing pitfalls and dangers before us IN THE NAME OF ALLAH.
