The proposed Independent Commission for the Judiciary will compete with the powers of the Raja and PM (“Suruhanjaya Saingi Kuasa Raja dan PM”)

I had a look at Datuk Kadir Jasin’s posting on the above subject matter and I posted my comments as follows:

Facts and near facts/ pertinent questions

1. What’s the purpose of setting up an independent judiciary commission?

Probable answer

Because PM wants to fulfill his promises of populist reforms to get general public support to stay longer in office while at same time extract vengeance on TDM; all in the name of greater justice and the love of the 1st family. He did so while discarding UMNO members’ strong reservations.

2. What was wrong with the existing system?

Probable answer:

Nothing; miscalculating the apparent ‘misuse’ of power by TDM in the 20 year old buried case of Tun Salleh Abas. And when the truth and shit resurfaced, PM’s plans backfired and the Government wouldn’t apologize. To pursue the Tun Saleh Abas further, PM would encourage inter alia the wrath of the Council of Rulers. Thus badly advised again, PM and the so called Justice Minister had to walk with their tails between their legs. Of cause the son, son in law and the 4th floor advisers had to bury their big heads into the shit holes while exposing their big fat buttocks to be kicked like their good friends in the zoo, the ostrich.

3. Who are the likely ‘winners’ if such commission is set up?

Probable answer

a) The PM in having his preferred people selected and appointed into the commission who would assist in covering up the faults and plunders of the 1st Family

b) The Opposition especially the DAP who have no love for the Melayu under pretext of Malaysian Malaysia

c) The Bar Council who foolishly believe that such action is necessary to bring back investors into our country

d) Those to be selected and appointed from the public who may have conflict of interest. They will soon find out what it would be like to be ‘tigers without fangs’.

4. Who are the likely losers if the commission is set up?

Probable answer

a) The Rakyat because the existing system had historically proven to be workable

b) The Council of Rulers and the next Chief Executive (PM would have left leaving all the shit and mess behind) who will see their powers diminished and the Government may not be functioning as efficiently. The majority of members of Council of Rulers recognize that part their power has been unnecessarily curtailed.

c) Those in the fraternity who aught to have the right to select and recommend among themselves who to take up those positions.

d) The Government in sponsoring an event to honor Tun Saleh Abas and all the unnecessary back payments.

e) The PM who will be known in our history as the Jack Ass in defying the interest of the Nation for betterment of the 1st Family

5. Additional considerations:

a) In comparison to the 1st Family, the Sultans of Perlis, Trengganu and Perak have recently demonstrated they are able to act in the best interest of the Rakyat.

b) In hiding the rot within Scomi where the son-in-law of Tun Salleh is the CEO of Scomi while his son is the major shareholder, PM had acted with prejudice and great injustice

So Datuk, I sincerely agree with you all the way. PM and the 4th Floor boys are consistently too desperate, short sighted and politically immature to understand the ramifications of their personal selfish actions. Any bad intentions preceding any action will bring adverse repercussions

The Symbolic Kris

I see little reasons in supporting Hishammudin in his apologies about the kris - he did so as a critical part of his damage control in vying the VP post. He could also have been forced by those behind the scenes who want him as the fall guy for one of the apparent causes for PM’s setbacks. The unsheathing of the kris, a minor issue, was made big and capitalized extensively by certain quarters especially the DAP and those new con Melayu who have forgotten their roots. The present leadership, as usual, had failed to spin the issue in UMNO’s favor and continues to stand on wobbly footing; this was just another attempt of populist acts that the leadership and his cronies of nincompoop advisers desperately tries to retrieve lost grounds. Thus, it was foolish for Hishammudin to take the brunt being the scrape goat while the prime mover goes scout free.

I am glad that there are many of us who disagrees with Hishammudin’s action; let us not fear and demonstrate that the spirit of “Melayu Jati” is very much vibrant. Let those sinister Malaysians continue to make a mockery over his apology as they watch the call for Ketuanan Melayu gets getting stronger, louder and relevant

Dr Puad Zarkashi “ Peralihan kuasa ialah proses “Merakyatkan UMNO”

My comments on the above posting found in

http://bigdogdotcom.wordpress.com/2008/04/26/dr-puad-zarkashi-peralihan-kuasa-ialah-pros

is as follows

"There are “many ways to skin a cat” although it is well acknowledged that to remove an UMNO president from power is practicably impossible unless we continue to be bravely united in our cohesive efforts to bring him down without any compromise to our race and Islam.

The President’s weakest link, being the source of his greatest mistakes, is his immediate family who blatantly plundered the nation while continuing to influence him immensely in decisions of National Security. It is ridiculous that the country is managed and run by a bunch of nincompoops with personal selfish interest while the President remains merely its mouth piece.

Dr Puad Akashi’s Batu Pahat UMNO decision to approve the various resolutions is most commendable and should be quickly preceded by others. His methodology of the EGM route will however take time while the interest of the Nation continues to rot. I hope the many other divisions will quickly join in the chorus and enhance the pressure on the President to quit rather than wait until year end.

Time is the essence as the security of the Nation continues to falter. While we should not discontinue our concerted efforts including voicing out loud our disapproval of the President in prolonging his stay in office, we should not loose focus on his weakest link. That weakest link should be exploited to the maximum and those with the relevant proofs should be coaxed to come forward (to the relevant authorities or channels) in ensuring that no loose ends remain untied; this could be difficult but perhaps the appropriate and quickest route to force the President’s departure..

Bringing down the President is just the beginning. The Party has to be urgently and wholesomely revamped/ restructured for its relevancy. This is the “catalyst of change” that I find is the ultimate in pursuing the long and enduring “war” in regaining the trust and confidence of the lost “Silent Majority” and consequently wins back the lost states with pride and dignity. At the helm of the Party must be a strong leadership, unattached to those traditional ways which have been found counter productive while appreciating the necessity to reconcile with the vanquished, unify the Party at all fronts. Then only then can the country successfully and with ease face the threats from the likes of those associated with “Foundation of the Future”.

Once again to Dr Fuad Akashi and his Division, I congratulate a job well done."

Expose War Crimes: Criminalize War

The following is my comments on the subject matter found at
http://bigdogdotcom.wordpress.com/2008/04/26/expose-war-crimes-criminalise-war/track

"As always, Tun delivered an excellent speech which this time round

- in defense of those who innocently suffer daily from the ramifications of present day wars;

- that those “war criminals” who hypocritically crusades in the name of Greater Freedom and Liberty in the world would be disgusted to listen; Tun continues to be a “marked” statesman of his perpetual enemies at the international level who in the name of global peace and freedom continuously and viciously rape and plunder the world’s resources for their personal gains

- his historical enemies in his own country will still refuse and cannot accept Tun for the great man he is

Thus in that country that advocates freedom of speech, “scores of Malaysians and non-Malaysians were left stranded outside the Imperial College when they were barred from entering the hall” reported the Star. Who’s responsible? These are indeed the works of “scavengers” who fear the Tun to speak his mind without fear and favor. I wonder what would have the turn been out if he would have given such speech at Hyde Park.

Syabas again, Tun."

BTN : MORE THAN PATRIOTISM

I thought of taking a break from reading the many fitnah circulating amidst the blogs to prepare an important outstation business meeting tomorrow but then when I noticed this articleThumbs up - or thumbs down for Biro Tata Negara” with several references to my earlier article, I just have to quickly clarify my stand.

  1. An avenue for indoctrination and brainwashing.

Be practical, can a 3-4 day course effectively indoctrinate or brainwash a person? Let’s look at the time spent at the program - if you minus the time for pre-mobilization (i e registration and program briefing and getting to now each other), physical exercise (morning exercises, evening runs), makan & break time (where most participants chat about many other matters of mutual interest rather than the purpose of the program), group photo time – in all perhaps, effectively not more than 2 days for ‘indoctrination/ brain washing’, that also if the participants were really paying attention. My definition of ‘brainwashing’ is like in the movies ‘the Manchurian Candidate’ or “Bourne Ultimatum”. If indeed the 3-4 day program was successful in its techniques of brainwashing and indoctrinating, I am sure the program would have been copied and its educators recruited handsomely by the CIA/ FBI/ NSA and its other associated agencies for their counter intelligence efforts.

Those who frequent attending meetings or forums should be aware that after a while perhaps after an hour or so, the attendees would start to loose focus and there after one’s absorption capacity reduces tremendously. Compound that with the weariness and fatigue from coming all the way to the program, sleeping on unfamiliar beds and getting use to its unfamiliar environment. In other words the normal human brain can only take so much and so the effectiveness of the BTN program as a brainwashing and indoctrination technique is doubtful. To most participants, I would believe the program serves more of a reminder.

  1. To sit in Dr Azly’s class to enrich the experience of his American students studying Cross Cultural Perspectives?

Without any disrespect, I rather not. About 3 years ago, at the Los Angeles airport I was stopped immediately after the airport’s security check point on my way back to Malaysia. I was asked to sit on the floor and then spread my legs. My Japanese sleepers (which I had to use because of a foot injury) had to be removed too. A big burly officer had the scanner went through all over me for the second time within a space of 10 minutes. Having found nothing, the officer smiled at me and said thank you. My two other Chinese associates accompanying me were not subjected to such scanning. And I replied to the officer “Oh, sama-sama” and walked away feeling pissed off.

The US, due to its own doing, is a Nation living in fear. The citizens are so scared of Death and Security and their true god appears to their allegiance to the Flag and National Anthem. The culture and the make up of the cosmopolitan population of the US are not similar to ours, so are its economic structure, ownership and political framework. The US has its own set of racial problems or cross cultural issues. Some factors I believe could be similar but overall the problems are distinctly different than ours. Perhaps the institutions enlisted Dr. Azly’s help because they are not able to understand or cope with the strong undercurrents of racism brewing and well hidden from public eye. The US sees it critically important in portraying its image as the lead country for Liberty and Freedom to the entire world.

.

Why do you think the film “Crash” became popular or that Barack Obama got much of the Black votes – don’t these reflect the true racial undercurrents of US society?

  1. Changing of mind set

The difference between “indoctrination” and “education” is relative and subjective but the effect is either to change or enforce a certain mindset or value. I would like to list below situations that have successfully impacted mindsets and values

- i) Those who everyday or often watch TV programs. Those movies or programs imported from Hollywood, Bollywood, and Hong Kong or elsewhere have some persistent message or values both open and hidden to be transmitted. The mind of the viewers is being consistently and perpetually barraged, addicted, “corrupted” as they watched these shows over and over again. Eventually after a while, they become accepted or adjusted (after the effects of being indoctrinated, educated and influenced) with such lifestyle and values which were once totally alien to them.

- ii) The Iraq War - Look at the impact of the biasness of International Press/ Media and their skewed and selective reporting about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction prior to the start of the war. The propaganda machinery of the United States and its allies were amassed to convince the world that war was necessary against an evil dictator. This propaganda to educate/ indoctrinate the populace was not a 3-4 day program. The psychological preparation was started well in advance to ‘brainwash, indoctrinate and educate’ the US public to endorse the President to go to war and consequently when the time came, the majority population of the United States did voted for the war. Now after 5 years what happened and is still happening in Iraq under the doctrine of Greater Freedom and Liberty? Is the US public still positive about the war?

- iii) The issue of collateral damage. Both the western media’s skewed reporting and the many exciting action movies have made many of the viewers accept that collateral damage is an acceptable consequence of war and so the killing of the numerous innocent Iraqis or the Palestinians perpetuates with little resistance from the public. Thus the world keeps numb as the people and the nations of Iraq & Palestine continues to face annihilation

There are plentiful of examples but I believe it does suffice to leave at these 3 examples.

Coming back to BTN, is it that easy to change his or her mindset meaning, do one expect after attending a one off 3-4 day program can really change one’s mind set build over so many years? Is such easy change consistent with the Theory and Practice of Behavioral Science/ Human Psychology found in the Masters Program?

  1. Ketuanan Melayu works only for Malay robber barons who wish to plunder the nation by silencing the masses and using the ideological state apparatuses at their disposal. In the case of the BTN it is the work of controlling the minds of the youth”

The concept of Ketuanan Melayu works well for me – I am not a Malay baron and I don’t think I ever plundered the nation. I have always worked in the private sector, not a member of any political party. Well, when one is power, one uses whatever resources it pleases. I see the potential benefits of BTN to my siblings so I have no qualms.

  1. Can BTN actually control the minds of the youth? I doubt so, especially for a 3-4 day course; the youth now-days are much, much smarter compared to our days perhaps because they are more exposed at a much younger age. In parenting these youths/ teenagers today, can the same methodology used by our parents on us be applied? In some situations yes but try that on many others, the chances are that the teenagers will likely keep a distance away and show their one or two fingers; these teenagers can form their own mind set without being told, be they from any DNA.

Just to digress a little, I have a son, the youngest of my family, who loves his PSP2. I was very concern that he was spending too much time on the gadget rather than studying for his UPSR exams due this year. However his school results have not been too bad even though he has that PSP2 habit and misses quite a number of schooling days because of his asthma problem. However, my son always scored among the best in his school for English. His secret: the PSP2 (prior to that an X-Box). And so when he wants to change some new PSP2 games which cost RM5 each, I normally obliged hoping that the PSP2 and new games will further improve his command of the English language as well as give him some perspectives of the opportunities out there.

The environment during my/ our time was different, TV was then black and white and that was only TV1 channel, now there are so many channels including Astro. Electronic gadgets and games were non existence. I became computer literate only after past 40 years old and that also not fully competent; the Starbucks lifestyle was also non existence. All my family members have long migrated to the cities from our kampong. Time’s change, mate, time’s have really changed – the dangers and opportunities are vastly different from before, particularly because of globalization.

But how does each of us, GOD CREATED INDIVIDUALS, prepare our kids for the future and what values do each of us want to bequest onto them? It is always a question of CHOICE and for us (ordinary) Muslims, we have to make that choice at every second of our daily lives for which we are continuously tested. Bear in mind I do not have a kampong anymore and the environment of kampong Melayu is not available for my growing children. Yet I still value the positive attributes of learning or being reminded of the history, roots and culture of a Melayu Muslim DNA. If BTN can give a little of those to my children, why not? I can evaluate what I should assimilate and I am sure my teenage children are resilient to do the same when the time comes. The moment I tell my children “cannot do this or that or do this way and not that way lah’ without any choice or good reasons, for example, don’t go to national service or a BTN program because they are brainwashing programs, then I would have failed in my duty as a parent; I have closed their minds to the simplest of challenges.

  1. “Special rights for all Malaysians” and "special rights of a few Malays" - I wish not to deliberate with Dr Azly on these issues for our values may differ by the oceans apart. Perhaps it’s best that the decision be put to the polls for the Silent Majority to decide.

  1. For Natural DNA- Almighty made us of ‘different race, color, creed, class, and national origin’ so that ‘we know each other’ and submits to His will; that’s my opinion. With that He gave me my natural DNA, a DNA which I (we) should be naturally proud of. I do not see the need for my DNA to be synthetically changed to be a “Bionic Man or Woman” or an X-men. Like many others with natural DNA, I have worked hard; working from scratch to become what I am. It’s a human jungle out there with a lot of vicious “animals” lurking around disguised in the form of men. As an ordinary citizen, I have obligations, responsibilities and am accountable to my wife, my children, my extended family, my multi racial and religious country and friends, to my surau, to my race, business, etc, etc and of course to myself and ultimately to Almighty. I am being reasonable in realizing I have limitations to what I can achieve, I do not want to reach the “impossible dream”; Almighty knows what’s best for me. The rest I leave to Faith. If others wish to chase the impossible dream, it is their choice; the people know what’s best for them.

  1. As per my earlier articleThe programs themselves are beneficial for the Malays within the context of Ketuanan Melayu. As to the organization itself, it's just natural for the organizers to want the programs to achieve as many aims as possible. Of course some educators are better than others in their approach and communication skills. For me and I believe too for most participants, we are matured enough to make up our own mind on what's good or bad, what's reasonable, illogical, unreasonable or fictitious; we take from the program what we like and discard those we think are rubbish and as we reflect, we move on in life searching for the manifold bounties out there.

- I) My definition of Ketuanan Melayu is as follows

Ketuanan Melayu or Malay Supremacy in this context means that political powers reside with the Malays. Thus the Malays with its special rights enshrined in the constitution, is expected to take the lead in governing the country while safeguarding the interests and well being of all communities as has been the case since Independence. KETUANAN MELAYU IS NEVER MEANT TO BELITTLE THE OTHER RACES THAT THE MALAYS ARE SUPERIOR TO THEM. Ketuanan Melayu is meant to pride the Malays to stand on equal platform with other races of the world. The call for Ketuanan Melayu is usually to remind the Malays to be united in protecting their roots, culture and history”.

There are many who will disagree while others will agree about the essence of the above paragraph. It is not within the scope of this reply to deliberate on such sensitive matter; there are many others who are more knowledgeable or competent on the subject.

- II) Yes the data, figures and facts presented at the BTN program could be ‘haprak’, prejudiced and skewed.

-

How much reliance did I put on them? Did I showed them to my friends and family after I’ve finished my program to make a big fuss about my “discoveries” or did I store them up in my own library? Even today I have yet to frame up the group photograph taken at that program because it was not a priority and subsequently forgotten.

These facts, data and figures (even if there is 10% -25% variation) merely confirms a part of the truth or perception out there. Even if one doesn’t attend a BTN program, one could have already more than sense it unless one is so blind. It is for anyone to interpret the facts and numbers irrespective of what the presenter or educator insists.

Bahtera Negara

Do I still remember the lyrics of the song of Bahtera Merdeka, unfortunately no because I never encountered the necessity to sing that song again. Neither do I sing the Negara Ku unless specially requested at the functions The Bahtera Medeka was sung for its purpose for that BTN occasion and then zapped, it is forgotten, and so what’s the big fuss about the song? I wonder if that song is found in the Karaoke list but there are many other songs I love to hear or sing which reminisces of some special memories of my past like “I will survive” by Gloria Gaynor or “BBC (Benci Bilang Cinta)” by Radja.

Opportunities

There are always those who may want to capitalize on opportunities arising from such programs (as there are always those who will never be satisfied with anything). How many? I think most of us had to rush back to work, ‘pronto’; a lot could be outstanding needing urgent attention and I am the bread winner for my family.

Hate Non Malays

Definitely during the program I was never educated or indoctrinated to hate the non Malays. Again to me the essence of the program is to remind me of the roots, culture and history of my natural DNA. I appreciate I have to survive in this lovely and blessed country of ours in mutual cooperation and understanding with the other races. So even if the educators did try to instill racial hatred during my program, I never captured it; it’s pure nonsense.

III) CHOICE based on each accepted values and perception.

I have attended many courses or programs where there are good and lousy educators or presenters. Here again is a question of perception and values. I may give high marks for one person based his presentation, methodology and on my understanding of the subject matter while another person may give the opposite views based on his value judgment. If I need to ask questions I ask them. If I don’t need to, don’t force me. Sometimes when people ask ridiculous questions, they do look and sound damned stupid. So sitting down and listening quietly and patiently doesn’t necessarily mean one is docile, it’s just an issue of absolute freedom of CHOICE based on each accepted values and perception.

IV) Of the "spirit of multiculturalism " and the "beauty of intellectual freedom"

“Many overseas trained and have tasted the "spirit of multiculturalism " and the "beauty of intellectual freedom" in their classrooms abroad -- who ought to have engineered a paradigm shift to help dismantle indoctrination agencies such as Biro Tata Negara”

As a matured student, I attended an 11 months’ Masters of Business Administration Program at a respected business school in London many years ago and unfortunately I do not see the urgency of such paradigm shift advocated and referred to by Encik Azly. I went there on a loan scholarship to specifically study and not to be a “kay poh chee”. After a while working, I fully paid off the loan amount.

With high crime rates among the blacks and campus shootings in US what had happen to the "spirit of multi-culturalism" and the "beauty of intellectual freedom" in the class rooms board. While in this country we do have such spirits and beauties, I am happy that my children are ‘safe’.

Let our education system evolve organically rather that adopting wholesale from the US system.

We should not adhere to any latent attempt by The Foundation for the Future in supporting the people of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa in their efforts to advance and strengthen freedom and democratic trends and practices.

Note: Besides the 3- 4 days BTN program, I understand that have special courses for secondary school children where the emphasis is on discipline and self development, instilling of Islamic values like love for parents honesty, leadership etc. There are no special slots to inculcate hatred against other races.

Being more than patriotic.

Do anyone truly and honesty believe with utmost certainty that the shortfalls and ills that we find in our education system today can be solely attributed to the role played by BTN and their band of lousy trainers or for that matter any particular specific factor? Is there anyone out there dares to admit that the causes are so numerous, some of which so complicated nor cannot be resolved by mere generalizations of theories yet to proven conclusive. Looks like BTN has played its role of being more than patriotic.

THAT I HOPE CLARIFIES WHY I GAVE THUMBS UP FOR BTN.

Interesting Articles.

I thought I should take a few days break from looking at political related articles in the alternative media but I just as I was about to, I couldn’t but help noticing two articles

  1. Hardtalk: Tun Dr Mahathir compared to Annuar Ibrahim

My simple comment successfully posted was as follows:

“TDM selflessly speaks for the sake of the Nation while Annuar speaks for his personal self interest, clouded with vengeance – hence any Ahmad, Ah Kow or Tamby who is unbiased can easily judge the (moral) difference”

  1. Topic: “Hishamuddin Rais and Brother Anwar Bin Ibrahim are just desperate bastards!” by BarkingMagpie dated Monday, April 21, 2008

One interesting part of the article as referred in paragraph three was “A claim made by one Altantuya friends who was a witness in the trial that she met DPM with Razak was never collaborated except by Yang Berbohong (YB) Tian Chua who put on his website a pix which he later admitted to be doctored …” .

At first it was shocking for me but then after reflecting the PKR leadership and the profiles of many of its candidates who were beneficiaries of the massive protest vote from the GE 12, it comes to no surprise that PKR candidates like YB Tian Chua are not only without any integrity or honesty but actually scum of the earth. As I had said to my friends even if a shit carrier stood on any ticket other than BN would have easily won. But I did not expect such a heinous character like YB Tian Chua to fabricate and superimpose Najib's photograph with Altantuya Politics or not or freedom of the net, it’s most sickening of such character and I am quite confident that he and such of his colleagues will face the music at their reelection.

A well presented key speech by our elderly statesman

Browsing through the various blogs this morning, my eyes caught an article on

“SECURITY PROBLEMS IN ASIA AND THEIR POSSIBLE IMPACT ON WORLD STABILITY” a keynote address by Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad at the 1ST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE BY CENTRE FOR DEFENSE INFORMATION STUDIES (CDIS) in Havana, Cuba on 21 April 2008.

Going through his speech, I would agree that many of the world’s problems (Asia, Middle East etc) to-day and its peace and security is continually being threatened by the vested interest and hypocrisy of the United State and its so called allies. It is however sad that no other country or group of countries at present can effectively neutralize the arrogance and negative influence of the word’s biggest economy.

To my former prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, I salute you. The speech was well presented and suitably crafted as the elderly statesman of Malaysia and I am sure as usual the audience had given you a thunderous applause. I also hope you will continue to present such enlightening speeches as well as continue voicing your dissatisfaction of the present leadership in our own country until it comes to a satisfactory completion.

Syabas and Shukur Alhamdullilah. .

On the Quest for Justice

I submitted a reply on the article ‘Tun Salleh Abas – The Quest for Justice’ which appeared on Malaysia Today as follows:

On the Quest for Justice,

My take is:

  1. The story of the Agong then took exception of Tun Salleh Abas (TSA) was already told to my family by a very close relative who was the then Chief Justice of Malaya. That many years ago, one of my late brothers, a staunch Pas supporter, on a family visit asked the relative about the story behind TSA’s dismissal as that late brother had heard several versions.

My family members who are still alive today could recall the gist of story told many years as follows

“TSA, annoyed by the noise/ construction of a royal family building near his house, went to our late relative and showed the draft letter of the complaint to the Agong as he sought the late relative’s opinion. Upon reviewing the draft, our late relative advised TSA that his complaint should be better resolved by discussing with the Agong; putting in writing and in such manner was indeed unruly and disrespectful (apparently written in a language suited to a peon). Our late relative then suitably redrafted the letter in case TSA was still adamant to proceed with the issuance of a letter. Subsequently when a sent copy to the Agong (copies of which were also given to the other rulers) was furnished to the said relative, he saw that it was the original version, not as he had amended. The Agong upon receipt of the said letter summoned TDM to dismiss TSA”.

Malaysia Today had earlier came out with the article on “Smokescreens and Disinformation: A distraction of issues” where the story of the Agong was mentioned in greater detail. RPK’s story appears to be in line with the story as told by my late relative. From another blog I read that TSA had written two letters to the then Agong.

  1. Encik Musa bin Ismail said “To the Hadhari Government the matter is conclusive, closed and "buried" and could not be "exhumed" on the grounds of finality of a case.”

Perhaps those who had initiated to exhume the 20 year old (complicated) case did not know or had forgotten the specific details and inner intricacies involved nor consulted the proper records.

The primary reasons for the Government to close the case could be because

- it had served its primary purpose which is part and parcel of a concerted scheme to shore up the fledging popularity of the present Executive via advocating populist issues such as judicial reforms and to take the opportunity to bash up TDM and or

- those in the know of the inner intricacies and complexities of the case were finally able to convince the present Executive on the merits of closing the matter

  1. Not many of the general population would agree with Encik Musa’s statement on public furor about the closing of the case. For obvious reasons, the whole issue of TSA had been blown up and skewed particularly by the main media. Specific interests groups like the Bar Council and those who have a historical and unforgiving hatred against TDM joined in the fray aggravating the issue further.

When I spoke to some in legal fraternity especially the younger ones, yes they supported the present Executive’s action on the matter but could hardly remember or explain the details of the case. But to them it was done in the best interest of the country’s judiciary process and so they support.

To the many others (outside the fraternity) I spoke with, they just don’t see the benefits from reviving this 20 year old case which they have totally forgotten (not to mention how complicated was the whole issue and for that matter many of those directly and indirectly associated with the case have passed away) and the justification for the payment of compensation. To some, they sounded so annoyed. To them, they don’t bother because they are unaffected but also queried the reasons for bringing the case up now when there are more currently important national issues to be focused and resolved urgently and in priority, in particular to bread and butter issues.

  1. What would ‘any lawyer with an ounce of brain’ do about the buzz that TSA has a son-in-law who is the CEO of Scomi (where secrets of the numerous contracts are deemed kept)? We are aware who the major shareholder of Scomi is and how influential he is to the present Executive. Connect this buzz of such relationships to the “redemption” of TSA. Can the present Executive be truly independent and honest in his actions on the TSA case?

While the case for judicial reforms has its merits, for reasons 1 to 4 above, I don’t share the same feelings for the TSA case to proceed further.

For a Muslim, we find Almighty’s guidance in the 5 pillars of Islam and the 6 pillars of Faith and in this respect not only on Fiqh.

I hope those who had exhumed a forgotten 2O year case had done so with good intentions (niat) and without malice.

End.

THUMBS UP FOR BTN

(in response to the article "Refection of a singking Bahtera Merdeka" by Dr. Azly Rahman in Malaysia today)

Astonishing! From his article, Dr Azly Rahman claims

- an educator and of an astute stature having given a speech at Harvard University on "ambiguities of freedom" in post-March 8 revolution in Malaysia.

- “the BTN is the chief institution that disseminates the idea of Malay supremacy, makes Malays docile, wages nDoc germ warfare on Malays, breeds inter-racial hatred, destroys the possibility of inter-race dialogue, makes Malays afraid of themselves and their own shadow, and psyches Malays into believing that only UMNO is their true saviour”

- “his own personal experience with BTN in1980’s that BTM programs turning the Malay participants into leaders to hate especially the Chinese”.

I also did attended and found, unlike Dr Azly, that the BTN course satisfactorily achieved its objectives of inculcating the sense of Ketuanan Melayu (for my definition of Ketuanan Melayu see my blog at www.whackthembugger.blogspot.com), an alien concept to me then.

Backgrounder

Living among the Chinese communities in Ipoh during my entire schooling days, many of trusted friends were non Malays. Somehow after the infamous May 13 incident perhaps out of inherent fear, suspicion and sense of security, I got acquainted with more Malay friends but still never aside my friendship with the non-Malays. Through out my professional career, I believed I have worked well and fairly easy with all races. Living in this blessed country, mutual respect is mighty crucial for business as well as for the peace and harmony to prevail within a multiracial and religious society. My exposure to “Ketuanan Melayu” was practically absent then.

Akurjanji Culture

Maybe I am not as educated or qualified as Dr Azly Rahman .I confess I am no political scientist to be able to analyze and envisage the kind of extensive ‘carpet bombing, systematic mental genocide of Malays, the nDoc virus etc” to conclude vis a vis the Malays in general are “mentally subdued, docile etc contributing them extensively a few people. But this I know, the bulk of the Malays are engaged in the public sector and not the private sector. I would believe that being relatively immobile, they have a natural phobia “not to bite the hand that feeds them” (ie the Government) in the open. But when came 12 GE where the ballots were deemed secret, this set of people whom Dr Azly referred to could have been among those who gave a good swing of votes to the opposition. In Islam, if you see some wrong act, first use your hand to remedy the wrong, if you can’t then use mouth, even if that you cannot do that, then say it in your heart, Almighty understands. Indeed during the GE 12, these people being fully assured their ‘periok nasi’ is safe, finally used their hand on the ballot papers in demonstrating their perception of what’s right or wrong.

Bonda senyum riang (Mother smiled with joy)

Now there’s this national call for Ketuanan Melayu getting stronger and louder by the day. Many Malay NGO’s and prominent individuals are in togetherness in looking forward for some favorable outcome. The Malay electorates are genuinely concern as they feel insecure about their future, about their children’s welfare, about their race and religion and so the call for Ketuanan Melayu reverberate..

A newly designed ship, the Bahtera Merdeka with its Ketuanan Rakyat’s flag hosted up high, is in the docks of mainland West Malaysia, appears not quite ready to be launched to set sail for a long tough journey in search of the land of many promises. This new ship has 3 different able captains but each is clumsily learning to steer the wheels of the newly designed ship. Learning to pilot on still waters is never that simple especially when there some really big holes to plug. These 3 captains could sense from their most sophisticated radar system that an unexpected storm is approaching. The radar also indicates that a 50 year old junk of battle ship once perceived as sinking seemed opportune to capitalize on the stormy weather. This old junk flies several flags but the “despicable” Ketuanan Melayu flag seemed prominently hosted at the center. The 3 captains being skillful politicians, fearing their many of newly recruited passengers (of protest voters) may jump ship even before its official launch, takes on a common ploy - putting the blame elsewhere and this time to hit BTN and UMNO, the prime mover of Ketuanan Melayu.

Respect for Ketuanans

During my primary school days some 45 years ago, the sekolah rendah kebangsaan I attended was packed with non Malay students. At the sekolah rendah kebangsaan (just walking distance from my house) where all my children go for their primary education, one can hardly find Chinese students there. I was informed that the Chinese preferred to send their kids to Chinese primary schools. I would take it that the Chinese have their individual “indoctrination” programs to sustain their wishes and I have no qualms about it.

Certain nights as I just drive around the Chinese part of the new villages, I see frequent Chinese cultural happenings; Malaysia is truly a magnificent country endowed with wonderfully rich and diverse cultures. I respect the many cultures of the Chinese as they respect mine and so similarly with the Indians and others.

The BTN programs have purpose.

Now back to BTM programs, sometime during the last couple of months of TDM’ retirement, upon invitation, I attended a 3-4 day “national service” program organized by BTN. We, the “chosen ones”, comprise mostly very senior executives and top heads from the private as well as government corporations and institutions. “Chosen” because we were given the absolute discretion to choose whether we wish to attend or not; on my part there was absolutely no compulsion. I was glad I made the correct choice to attend. Those who participated included several of my clients and friends, so I wasn’t without company nor felt lonely being away from my family at a secluded location about 11/2 hours drive from home.

Unlike Dr. Azly Rahman, I found the BTN course

- an shocking eye opener; the facts and statistics laid bare before us demonstrated the status and achievements and the economic well being of the Malays in relation to the others;

- pressures and forces, both national and international, that continues ‘threatening’ the Malay community especially teenagers were highlighted and focused (generally applicable to other races too). These included the supposedly bad influences of the entertainment world, the channels of communication (media), drugs, etc

- analysis and factors that influence the performance of Malay students and the inability of some to response appropriately upon exposure to the world ie once they are detached from the family

- historical development of our country, etc, etc.

Perhaps appreciating the make up and seniority of the participants, the BTN program was conducted in a most open environment with none of the junk Dr Azli referred earlier. If my memory serves me correct, the indoctrination program reminded us a lot about the poor state of our “roots” ie Malay race and as I reflected, I felt most sad, who shouldn’t be but that’s life as preordained by our creator, the Almighty, the most Beneficent and Compassionate. If we have the will to change our lives (fate), He will change it. So if we failed, we should not put the blame others except ourselves FULL STOP.

The Government continues to spent substantial amounts for the development of Malay students (amid instances of favoritism). Somehow Malay youths seemed very susceptible to the luring of worldly temptations and that is a genuine concern. Thus for its teen programs, BTN’s message of Ketuanan Melayu has to be hammered hard and in right into their brains to remind them who they are and what their responsibilities are. I would not disagree with that approach because even during my time, there were many students (financed by the Government or their institutions) who strayed from their studies and flopped. By the way, my daughter did her national service last year after her form 5 and she really enjoyed it.

I also do not share Dr Azly’s many desperate wants (“I want this lah and that lah, no not that lah, should be like this lah etc”), it reflects something horrible must have happened him; he sounds really confused, frustrated and very much sickly. He should have more Faith; if the pleadings are too many or too unrealistic, He may not grant want any at all. Be reasonable, accept that we are merely human and have limitations on what can we achieve.

Finally I categorically refute Dr Azly’s many baseless accusations on BTN and the effects of their programs. The programs themselves are beneficial for the Malays within the context of Ketuanan Melayu. As to the organization itself, it’s just natural for the organizers to want the programs to achieve as many aims as possible. Of course some educators are better than others in their approach and communication skills. For me and I believe too for most participants, we are matured enough to make up our own mind on what’s good or bad, what’s reasonable, illogical, unreasonable or fictitious; we take from the program what we like and discard those we think are rubbish and as we reflect, we move on in life searching for the manifold bounties out there.

I am just a simple minded Melayu (like a lazy big fat berok) who stay up on the tree top and from that vantage point, I dreamily watch the many opportunities slip way. I see no reason to compare with the Spartans or Athenians for examples, the Malays too has a long history with many examples and if anyone that the Malays should wish to emulate or compare, it’s the Prophet of Islam (PBUH)

IS “GORBY MALAYSIA” ANOTHER DESPERATE INITIATION OF KALIMULAH AND GANG

I wrote this in response to the article in Malaysia Today & Malaysian Insider entitled “Abdullah being compared to ex-Soviet leader Gorbachev” which I am of the opinion was written in bad taste.

Rightly put by Ajib: “Gorbachev caught the imagination of Soviets with his policy of glasnost and perestroika while Abdullah’s only claim is that he opened up democratic spaces in the country and allowed dissent to flourish”.

I am most suspicious of PM’s intention of opening up of the democratic process besides allowing dissent. There should be more to it as elaborated subsequently.

If there is any spec of similarity between the two, it could be either co-incidence or just forced through. I would believe democratic process PM initiated would not go far as the public expect.

Hishammuddin Rais, the promoter of the Gorby Malaysia, credited Abdullah for the changed political environment in Malaysia and likens him to Gorbachev, inherited a country that was repressive and autocratic in nature.

I and I am sure many Malaysians don’t share his negative perceptions of inheriting repressiveness and autocracy; of course there are those who are unhappy with the statesmanship of TDM especially who are natural communist socialists, those whose battlecry is Malaysian Malaysia or advocates for the two party system, oppositions, opportunists, desperados, those held under ISA etc. Perhaps after enjoying such a long period of peace, stability and prosperity, these Malaysians have forgotten TDM’s type of leadership and positive contributions to the country. Thus when the PM pursues his opening up of the democratic process, this bunch of zealots not only praises him but demanded the sky (as the Malays saying bagi kaki nak betis, bagi betis nak peha, bagi peha nak??? Yak!!!)

Johan Saravanamuttu of Singapore’s ISEAS, according to Ajib says that PM is not unlike that of Gorbachev with arguably different nuances and in a somewhat different political context. PM’s reform agenda was an egregious failure accounting for the current development when Malaysians took matters into their own hands and voted out his government in several States as well in reducing the majority in parliament short of 8 seats of a 2/3 majority .

To me and many of my friends and members of my family and associates, PM deserved that worst performance by UMNO/ BN in history but NOT the country – it’s unfortunate that the country is simply being led by a most incompetent leader and the consequences will be terrible if he persists to stay in office.

The forces in the external environment now are most precarious to the country; the prices of basic necessities such as rice and flour are on the rise due to world shortages, oil prices has jumped sky high, the world’s biggest economy namely the United States is already into recession albeit acute financial crisis.

The local environment is also precarious while freedom and democracy is being promoted and prioritized at the expense of greater security and stability. For those who disagree, just look why and where has the foreign funds gone to? National Productivity is expected to be adversely affected as opposition control states battle the federal government on allocation of much needed funds. The Government cannot continue subsidizing the increase in prices of these commodities and as inflation looms, the ringgit we have gets to buy less. This is not a gambit to cause fear but reality speaks for itself. Thus the Nation suffers further from the expected downspin in economic activities.

Ajib further reports: PM’s reform agenda may not jive with what Umno wants. Some government officials appreciate this dilemma but say that Abdullah has little choice. He can either be remembered as the country’s worst prime minister or someone who went down trying to do the right thing.

Doing the right thing is indeed very relative. Seldom do people share the same views on how or what things should be done. However a majority view would normally indicate the preferred choice. Scrutinizing the above Para, if PM’s reform agenda is not accepted by UMNO, then PM is not heeding the wishes of his party as the will of the elected majority. Thus, pushing through his (democratic) reforms or in other words being like Gorby, as the perception is currently being carefully connoted, does not make sense. An astute leader would listen to the will of the majority but PM doesn’t (consistently) care too hoots about the voices of the electorates ie the appointed UMNO members in his Council. On one hand PM promotes big time democracy and on other he doesn’t seem to practise it.

Then the next natural question is who then does PM listen to and rely on for advice since we all know that he’s a non-performer by precedence. The answer on everyone’s lips is the 4th Floor boys. The bulk of those 4th Floor boys as I understand are not elected members and includes his dear SIL and S. So if indeed the perception is he is indeed the worst PM in our history (that’s nothing wrong being the worst since someone has to fill that slot on the assumption he’s tried his best), why then should PM go down trying to do something which is against the will of majority of his Council.

We are familiar about the 1st Family’s clear intentions of removing TDM’s legacy and to replace with his. This intention is again suspect as it has the consequence of removing the disruptive elements of his Council particularly those loyal to the ex-PM and replacing with his own loyal (‘yes men’) subjects. As such, a deception strategy was initiated to tone down the voices of dissent inside and outside his party under the pretext of populist reforms. Thus a 20 year old case was brought up purposely to assure that the Bar Council and the Opposition would have a field day on the perceived faults of a common subject – our true statesman TDM. A big fanfare was also organized to maximize the public exposure with maximum coverage in main stream media and beautifully played out as lovely as possible.

I would seriously perceive this attempt to compare PM to Gorby as a ‘cerita dogeng’ in conjunction or part of a concerted and desperate attempt of mass deception and disinformation connived by 4th Floor boys in building up PM’s battered image. It bears the hallmarks of the immature and foolhardy designs of those ‘dungus’ from ex- Singapore NST vis-à-vis the God Kali and BP. Perhaps this bunch of nincompoops imagine that boasting one’s image can be achieved as easy as freshening the face by using the latest mascara, glossy lipsticks, facial powder and hair gel and oh yes not forgetting the best of botox.

The end game for the opening spaces of the democratic process: to put some side show in protracting PM’s stay in office as attainable as possible so that the members of 1st family can continue the unbelievable namely ABSOLUTE PLUNDERING hoping that all those interested parties of the uncompleted reforms would stay contented and close their eyes for the time being before the next election. So by the time of the GE 13, PM would have left the country’s administration in an enormous mess, a scenario perfect for his SIL and the 1st family who would be by then more than filthy rich.

However let history decide on the course of events and how PM would eventually be perceived. Let us not be fooled or coy by such foolish comparison being part of a “games people play”.

Muslihat Halus Era Kebangkitan Rakyat

a, memang seronok bila kita lihat orang ramai bergembira bersama-sama dengar pidato.

Ya, kita amat setuju rakyat Malaysia patut bangkit seperti :-

- rakyat Perancis semasa 'the French Revolution' dimana yang dituduh bersalah daripada golongan kaya, mengikut perhitungan orang ramai, telah digantung serta dipancong kerana kerajaan tidak menyediakan cukup makanan; atau seperti

- rakyat Shi'ah Islam yang didorong oleh George Bush dan penghianat negara Iraq terhadap Saddam Hussein. Hari ini, iaitu selepas 5 tahun dijajah, sungguh sedih kita lihat negara itu yang bangsanya pada satu ketika dulu adalah yang termaju di dunia Arab dimusnahkan dan rakyatnya lebih jauh menderita berbanding semasa zaman Saddam;

- atau lagi dekat, di Filipina di mana negara itu tak kemana-mana kerana selalunya diadakan suara kebangkitan rakyat yang ingin menukar kepimpinan kerajaan;

No two ways about it.

Best Gila!!!

IN THE NAME OF THE PIG

Hey you guys, didn’t you ever think that the Hantu Toyol (former MB) has purposely set a deep bamboo trap filled with a time bomb flushed with C4 in respect of the subject matter. The more the big fat Pig is openly deliberated and supported, the more Pakatan Rakyat will likely loose Malay voters in any election.

Its not that I love Pakatan Rakyat less but it’s that I love the rakyat more, that’s I why I’m telling you guys

1. Intention before Action. A Muslim would always say any action is preceded by intention. Also a Believer will say “If you have bad thoughts/ intentions but did commit a wrongful act, you get nothing. But when those bad thoughts/ intentions crystallize into commission of wrongful acts, its sure is daylight sin” I am sure deep in their tummies; the Pig is causing their Islamic party partners to quickly dig a big deep hole because they all have to shit from acute diarrhea. In this country where the Muslim are a huge majority and known so widely and respected among Muslim nations worldwide, the Islamic party leadership should not spoil the faith and hard earned respect in putting forward polemics or rationale justifying their conscience.

2. In the roasted Pig’s case, the Hantu Toyol surely grins as he argues to the electorate “these were preliminary proposals ‘approved’ with the intention of pleasing that particular community in BN for pre-election purposes The project was meant never to take off; we had to do it like real. Blame the Pakatan Rakyat, not only did they approved and implement it, they magnified the Pig’s size by more than 4 times the original cost” as he hits out that the BN culprit who had disclosed 'details'.

Can you visualize the Believers’ mouths ‘ternganga’ with black fumes blowing out of their noses and ears? You think pictures/ photographs or rational and arguments matter to these deeply religious zealots when the mere mentioning of the Pig just pisses them off? Definitely, it will not be a sight I ever want to behold.

3. What do you think when some of the 1,000,000 PKR pamphlets send out to ‘explain’ and defend the Pig reaches the Believers? Will these Believers pile them up and start a bonfire and spreading like bush fires Yes, maybe they might just do that after of cause making a police report complaining that such rubbish were deliberately pushed onto them causing much insult and pain. Oh shit, all hell’s gonna break loose.

My compassionate advice, in the best interest of peace and tranquility in this blessed country, to those busy computing their anticipated private or financial spin-offs from the Pig is to ‘still born’ the Pig perpetually. The multi, multi million dollars to be put into the project cost is better used to buy over some of their political opponents whom their prime minister in waiting (supposedly once a Muslim intellectual with a wife who wears a tudong on all occasions) has expressed wanting to jump ship. However, keeping the Pig forever in an extra large most modern deep freezer might just be a little late now that the CAT IS OUT OF THE BOX. Remember the population especially the protest voters are watching with the eagle’s eyes all screwed up and as the song goes

“Every breath you take

Every move you make

--------- (somebody fill up for me, I've forgotten the words)

I”ll be watching you”

Great, it’s really great; I salute the Hantu Toyol for having brought out a most explosive time bomb (by fluke?).

Permuafakatan Melayu – UMNO’S PREDICAMENT

Questions and Answers

(see note 1 on definition of Ketuanan Melayu)

1. Malaysia Today: “Talk of Malays losing their political power gaining momentum, Umno politicians are not ruling out a merger, alliance or some form of cooperation with their long-time nemesis”

Berita Harian: “UMNO – PAS – PKR akan bincang pertahan hak Melayu”.

Well, well, well what happened to UMNO’s political leadership in the context of Malay unity and who’s responsible for UMNO to be led rather than taking the lead. Who in UMNO should shoulder the blame? PM, of course and what did Berita Harian front page to-day 16 April 2008 read ‘Bantu Abdullah penuhi segala janji kepada rakyat’. Janji apa lagi, his ‘janji to the rakyat’ may not sync in line with ‘Ketuanan Melayu’, the essence of UMNO.

Lets just look at two of his janji-janji

a) Converts to Islam to inform family (what a Booboo?) Read my previous posting - PM’s Big Boboo

b) Indications of changes to come for the Judiciary

According to Malaysia Today recently, “the PM had raised three major points starting with the ‘misuse’ of power by Tun Mahathir while he was Prime Minister.

"If the matter needs to be investigated then it will be done." Is a statement that indicates possible future actions against his opponents within UMNO?

Future actions could involve the opening of cases that are piling up against Tun Mahathir in the country’s courts. The Prime Minister also said the judiciary was not trusted by locals and foreign investors, possibly linking the rot in the judiciary system with the misuse of power by former leaders of the party and of the country”

PM’s sincerity in changing judicial legislations:

i) When has ever the ‘rot’ in the judiciary with the misuse of power by former leaders of the party and of the country been linked with the investment climate? Can such linkage be measured, by how much %? Maybe Albert Einstein could come out with the formula but in decision making, investors may be willing to take a higher risk on ‘despotic’ nations like Malaysia if peace and stability prevails. The last time foreigners deserted Malaysia and became revengeful on the Government was when its currency was fixed during the 97 financial crisis. Malaysians who are not ‘mudah lupa’ would well remember that the steps then were necessary to protect the country’s premier assets from being plagued by foreign ‘barbarians at the gates’. Though the local market subsequently lagged behind others in the region, confidence slowly returned. Now post GE 12, foreign funds, concerned the weak Government and political instability again deserted the local exchange. It’s funny that now PM wants to put the blame on this invisible linkage on the inadequacies of our judicial system. That’s pure RUBBISH and PIG HEADED except for scavengers like George Soros.

ii) What are those cases piling up against TDM and who brought them up? So like Saddam Hussien, PM and interested parties (an orgy of unlikely bed partners) want to have TDM tried for misuse of power in the past.

Well we all know so well that Saddam was tried by those Shites who became the pariahs of the United States and the dire consequences on Iraq after 5 years – annihilation under the name of Greater Freedom of an illegal war conducted under the pretext of destroying weapons of mass destruction. Indeed Saddam was hailed a hero among the Sunnis while George Bush and his Coalition of the Willing suffered much humiliation; that’s Almighty verdict and now at the end of his presidency, Bush stands alone as among the worst US president in history while all his associates have been dethroned one by one. Now look at the pariahs’ who are fully supporting PM in his on-going personal fight with TDM; people like Param Cumaraswamy, VK Lingam, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang and the many Malaysian Malaysia, ANNUAR IBRAHIM and his band of Ketuanan Rakyats and of course the baruas of PM and the 1st family, in this case particularly Zaid Ibrahim. Ahh…… and yes we must not forget to include George Soros, the US administration, Isreal and the many hungry and angry hedge funds.

Malaysians recognized and saluted the leadership and statesmanship of TDM in pulling the country out of the 97 financial crisis- is it a question of “Malaysians muda lupa???”

iii) Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Dato Zaid Ibrahim's had called for the Government to apologise for the action taken against Tun Salleh Abbas whilst bringing out again certain public outcry on wrong doings of TDM. Finally the Government announced its refusal to apologise and Zaid Ibrahim had to walk with his tail between his legs

BUT there’s a juicier twist to the Tun Salleh Abbas story that goes as follows

“Kamaluddin was said to influence his father, the PM, to revive the status of Tun Salleh Abas as an arrangement to please the CEO of Scomi, Shah Hakim Zain perhaps to keep certain secrets. Shah Hakim is the son in law to Tun Salleh Abas. As such, the issue of Tun Salleh Abas was revived to assist PM in his efforts to help his son and the CEO of Scomi”.

If indeed there is truth in this story, why not publicise these connections in the national papers or the newsletter of the Bar Council, let the populace be aware of the independence of 1st family in the Tun Salleh Abbas revival. So as usual the truth may not necessary be what the eyes and ears perceive and all that looks straight may actually be crooked, real crooked.

Latest: While the Government had agreed not to apologise on the Tun Salleh case, it was also reported that the Government would make amends. So to-night Thursday 18 April 2008, the Government will sponsor a special dinner hosted by the Bar Council where PM will deliver a special address entitled “Delivering Justice, Renewing Trust”. Tun Salleh Abas will be at the dinner together with Datuk George Seah and representatives of family members of the other 4 Federal Court judges who were suspended in 1988. Also at the dinner will be de facto Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim who is said to have been instrumental in having the dinner organized (yeah who else would be the ball licker). If the rumours are correct, the government will pay back wages and reinstate the full pension of each of the judges who were sacked or suspended in 1988. For former Lord President Tun Salleh Abas and Federal Court brothers – Datuk George Seah and the late Tan Sri Wan Sulaiman – the compensation could reach RM1 million each. I assume the excellent food for the night will be specially flown directly by Air Asia from the Aborigines Kitchen in Australia.

I wonder how the Bar Council would look at the relationships between the 1st family and Tun Salleh Abas and of course on the preferential selection of Zaid Ibrahim as law minister and his immediate call on the case concerned. I guess for the self interests of the Bar Council, they would rather shut their eyes or not bothered. Thus, one then wonders at the possible conspiracy behind Tun Salleh’s revival and the so-called independence of the judiciary. They all look like a pack of angry and hungry wolves on the main stage as they feast tonight at prime time!!!

From the above, it’s most noticeable that both PM’s janji-janji are but a waste of the country’s resources, time and effort, immaturely and insincerely initiated and full of dendam using federal funds while the grounds swell unabatedly for the PM to throw in his towel.

2. Utusan Malaysia: “Don’t let it be that over power, Malay leaders of different political leanings are willing to disregard the interest of their own race and religion...If the Malay leaders love their race, they should begin negotiations to unite our people for the sake of the dignity and supremacy of the Malays"

What say the PM, his fight to stay in power is for the sustenance of the 1st family which is over and above that of his race and religion, is his conscious very clear, He is still Mr. Clean, right? Why should his party UMNO, the defender of Malay rights, begin negotiations with other Malay leaders? Why are these Malay NGO’s or other Malay leaders calling for such revival when his leadership purport to have a strong and clear mandate (2/3 short of 8) to rule? Nay, while the situation is truly critical, PM and his stooges are helpless, too weak and immature to contain the restlessness and uncertainty prevailing among the Melayu which sooner than later is expected to worsen into one big mess.

3. The Regent of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra:To unite the Malays need to be given priority over everything else because the special position of the Malays and Islam was being challenged”.

So what’s PM’s talk, where is he when the special position of the Malays and Islam is being challenged? Is the PM’s priority still to do “many things that need to be done like restoring judicial power, religious freedom etc…..’ And yes, keeping ‘berdalih untuk berundur dan hanya pergi bila sedia’ blatantly rejecting the numerous direct calls for him to step down soonest. Yeah, even Royalties despise his weaknesses; their peace and care for their constituents has been shattered by his carelessness and the stupidity of his closest advisers. We always look at precedence and by that score, unfortunately, PM has horribly failed; I have little faith in him genuinely coming to dire assistance of the Malay population FULL STOP.

4. Umno Veterans Association Tan Sri Tajuddin Ali: Confident that any attempts to call for a vote of no-confidence against Abdullah would be futile. “We have 100% support for Abdullah. I have got the mandate from Umno veterans that he must stand firm and never be shaken by anybody,” he said, adding that all that have happened to Umno are "mere hiccups which can be cured with a good medicine".

Understand what’s this skunk of a veteran is talking about? Look at 1, 2 & 3, are they symptoms of "mere hiccups which can be cured with a good medicine"? Well I guess Tan Sri is a doctor like TDM but with a big difference - not authorized to give any specific prescription. Perhaps Tan Sri and his group and the likes are already old, well to do and have nothing to loose. Not like many of us when time is the essence and where our kids’ future is at stake.

5. Malaysiakini: “Kampong Baru hails ‘ketuanan rakyat’”.

Fantastic - on Black 14, DSAI as the prime minister in waiting, pronounced his now famous agenda, ‘Ketuanan Rakyat’, meaning he’s discarded ‘Ketuanan Melayu’. The 20,000 crowd present cheered at that pronouncement but one wonders whether the said (majority) Malay crowd understood its ramifications.

As in 1, 2 and 3 above, the Malays in general are genuinely concern about the well being of their race and religion coming under threat post GE 12, genuine because the non-Malays particularly the chauvinist DAP now control Perak, Penang, Selangor and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Perak and Selangor have majority Malay constituents. In these states, the interest of the DAP comes foremost while those of PAS and PKR comes secondary, all supposedly undertaken in the best interest of rakyat by the new alliance called Pakatan Rakyat.

Lets be realistic about the display of the chauvinist party’s agenda illustrated below immediately upon coming into power

i) NEP no longer prevails, a new affirmative policy to all races in need of assistance (which by the way is consistent with PKR’s Ketuanan Rakyat)

ii) The Pig Issue (update: some sources indicated that the original project cost of RM100M has escalated to RM485M, wow that’s high, what’s the commission like?)

iii) The Proposed Issuance of titles to new villagers in Perak which 85% beneficiaries are supposedly non-Melayu.

iv) More new projects in line which will illustrate the long time hidden agenda of the DAP’s slogan of “Malaysian Malaysia”. Don’t be surprise if new townships are designed and architected in form and substance that of the chauvinist party’s identity; the many Muslim type architecture we see to-day will be thrown into the dustbin. Throw in a university open for that particular race and the DAP will have a field day. Whatever it will be, PAS and PKR are expected to give support to DAP’s agenda in the larger interest of the alliance (will they?).

Now where’s PM, still having a deep sleep, while the other Malay leaders and their NGO’s are calling for Malay unity? Ahh…..maybe he has let his SIL covertly take the lead. Let’s look at the UMNO-PAS-PKR proposed discussion in the making. On UMNO’s side is Mohamad Norza Zakaria, PKR is led by Azmin Ali and on the PAS side is Salahuddin Ayub. Are they closely associated in any way with ANNUAR IBRAHIM and or SIL?

Immediately after the GC 12 results, there were initiations to come to some sort of loose coalition between UMNO and PAS to form the respective state governments, however a former close associate of DSAI in the PAS leadership rejected the proposal. PKR is DEFINITELY not a Malay organization thus cannot truly stand up for the Malays. Although a major part of its members are young Melayu, a good number of its members and leaders are Non-Melayu. Why does the AMT UMNO Norza want to start discussions as initial steps to ‘understand each other's sensitivities’ on a ‘just fact-finding’ mission with Azmin Ali when PKR’s agenda clearly stated ‘keadilan sesama Melayu dan kaum-kaum lain? No way will PKR desert its agenda; it tantamount to suicidal and bad for the image of the PM in waiting. Incredible, AMT Norza cannot appreciate the opponents’ philosophies and objectives, no wonder BN lost 10 out of 11 seats in Wilayah. Incredible too that AMT Norza admitted that the politicizing Malay issues had affected Umno's performance in the March 8 election; I disagree, because the fault is not politicizing Malay issues but how to politicize it, always remember UMNO has and always survived on racial based politics and thus it can never survive if it were to change its platform similar to that of PKR. I wonder then the true purpose of AMT Norza wanting to connect with the PKR and PAS.

However, I would not be surprised that AMT Norza would have got his instructions from SIL who, now in political limbo within UMNO, is looking for some form of relationship or compromise to be crystallized with the prime minister in waiting in rejuvenating his haprak political ambitions. It’s an accepted fact that SIL does not have a place in UMNO anymore without his father’s patronage; he’s good as dead meat. In respect to PAS, the Islamic based party should similarly be aware of PKR’s national objectives which, although respecting the rights of the Melayu as enshrined in the constitution, assures similar assertive rights of the other races. PKR’s thin line with the rights of the other races could merely a (temporary) deception ploy which if swayed, would be disastrous to its leadership. Perhaps PAS and PKR are at their limits from the blunt and aggressive initiations of the DAP which is hijacking its own agenda within the framework of the loose alliance, causing restlessness and rumblings at their own party supporters. Some sort of Malay alliance (although denied by AMT Norza) could be a possible way out for these two parties in consolidating their newly gained voter support. In addition, PKR has also a higher agenda which is to placate the prime minister in waiting to that highest echelon of power….Ugh…I hope UMNO MT is not that dumb.

UMNO’s strength weakens by the day as long as PM stays, that’s also an accepted perception. The anticipated discussion between UNO-PAS-PKR could initiate another conspiracy theory, that PM is prolonging his stay primarily to complete one unfinished business ie finding the opportunity of a new life and purpose in politics for the SIL. No wonder again, his proposed uncompleted tasks fall in line with the ‘Malaysian Malaysia’/ Ketuanan Rakyat agendas where he finds good support from all those tyrants who had always hated TDM as well as the Malay agenda. It seems the more precarious is UMNO’s position, the more relevance the SIL is. What a joke!

Some how or other, I would trust PAS many more times over PKR. If deemed most necessary, I look towards a beneficial arrangement between UMNO and PAS for the betterment of the Malays and Religion. UMNO must never dirty its hands with PKR.

My conclusions on the subject matter

i. The move for Permuafakatan Melayu is excellent for race based politics. Malays need to be reminded of the dangers they face as a race and of their religion in these troubled times. The impact on globalization and the demands of the international community has to come second. The survival of the Malays and their religion is priority; in fact Islam should come first.

The Malays are already opening up their eyes and while watching, they will evaluate the immediate and long term benefits under Pakatan Rakyat which presently comes under the thumbs of the DAP.

The move will entrench the importance of Ketuanan Melayu which many Malays may have forgotten due to the prosperity enjoyed during the good many years. The Malays will reflect at the various institutions that had set up for their benefit and would want their children, grand, grand grand children etc to enjoy so.

ii. The move is not in the best interest of UMNO as other Malay NGOs has shown their leadership during this crisis. UMNO would have lost some or concede much of its power as the defender of the Malays. If UMNO does not recover soon, it will share the same fate like the Sick Man of Europe.

iii. PM will of course deny that such move as necessary as it will blow up his weaknesses while denying his SIL a possible a rebirth in politics. Thus the present leadership should be forced to quickly make way and a new and relevant UMNO be established. When that time comes, all elements of SIL and DSAI must be eliminated or expunged. To be hard is necessary for the long term survival of the Melayu and UMNO and for UMNO to again play its traditional and dominant role. UMNO must be cleansed, all internal enemies check mate and remake itself relevant again.

iv. The more amplified the call for Ketuanan Melayu, the faster will be the death of Ketuanan Rakyat and of PKR. There is no way the bulk of the Malays will accept the abandonment of their special rights and status of Islam.

Let the prime minister in waiting dream on permanently and for those who advocate ‘Malaysian Malaysia/ KETUANAN RAKYAT’ – DREAM ON.

v. KETUANAN MELAYU IS HERE TO STAY FOR THE TIME BEING.

NOTES:

1. Ketuanan Melayu or Malay Supremacy in this context means that political powers reside with the Malays. Thus with the dominant role in Malaysian politics, the Malays with its special rights enshrined in the constitution, is expected to take the lead in governing the country while safeguarding the interests and well being of all communities as has been the case since Independence. Ketuanan Melayu is never meant to belittle the other races that the Malays are superior to them. Ketuanan Melayu is meant to pride the Malays to stand on equal platform with other races of the world. The call for Ketuanan Melayu is usually to remind the Malays to be united in protecting their roots, culture and history.

2. There are perpetual and acute difficulties faced by the Malays to compete on the same level playing field against the other races in certain major business sectors. Illustrations of true cases or precedents of the Malay entrepreneurs should provide justification for the continuance of the assertive policy for the benefit of the Malays. As a consequence, it’s a pity that the Malays have to continue relying on the Government for business. It has never been easy for the Malays to penetrate certain sectors due being tightly controlled/ domination by the non-Malays ever since the past decades and you don’t expect them to ease. In Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, the story is the same. Perhaps with such illustrations/ demonstrations, the population is reminded of the continuing shortfalls of the Malays and thus the need of continuing the assertive social policy and the urgent call of Ketuanan Melayu at times of political and economic uncertainties.
