ENTER UMNO’S BRUTUS IN THE MAKING

The slick person who had set up Gerak had his application pre-approved by PM to rejoin UMNO without pre-conditions ie any expectations for positions in UMNO. Yet within less than 24 hours, he offered to be Ketua Pemuda UMNO all in the good name of Islam, Malays and country viz a viz “if his leadership could help raise the status of the Malays as a respected race”. I have the impression he truly deem the Malays presently is NOT a respected race and that he is depicting his capability and responsibility to manage the change- Ugh!!.

Immediately following Ezam were 2 ex-PKR youth leaders while a few other 4-5 ex-PKR youth leaders are waiting at the sidelines.

The following are some salient extracts on Ezam from some blogs with certain statements and words being bold to highlight the emphasis of my questioning at the end of the article..

It would be good to read his entire statement as posted in Malaysiakini and at the same time reflect what the hadith and Quran stipulate about people/ politicians profiteering on Islam should he begin emphasizing some form of liberal Islam in the days, weeks and months to come after MT approves his and the other ex-PKR. Most of us being Shafies are also “fundamentalist” Muslims and we have lived in peace with the other races and religions without many problems. Being Muslims submitting to the will of Allah, we are suspicious of any form of change or liberalism affecting the foundation of our fundamental Islamic believes and practices including new philosophical or socialish theories etc advocated with much corruption from “Orientalists” and pro-Western form of democracies adhering to likes of the Foundation of the Future.

Ezam was quoted “He also said he did not believe in the concept of "Ketuanan Melayu" or "Ketuanan Rakyat" for that matter because the concept of "lordship" is a Roman one and not an Islamic concept…….he did say that he "holds strongly to the concept of an Islamic Malay nation that respects and acknowledges the rights of the other citizens from other races.”

Ahmad Shaari upon rejoining UMNO was quoted "I made the decision after comparing Umno with PKR as I have been a member of both parties. Thus, I must return to the roots of my struggles for the race and religion," said Anuar who had previously served as private secretary to the finance minister from 1996 until Sept 2, 1998.

“Ezam ibarat ayam jantan yang gah berkokok tetapi ekornya dipenuhi najis”

Kira-kira tiga minggu sebelum Parlimen dibubarkan Februari lepas, Ezam berkunjung ke pejabat Harakah, menemui Ketua Pengarang Kumpulan, Ahmad Lutfi Othman.

Bahan utama yang diminta beliau ialah mengenai laporan Badan Pencegah Rasuah dan sebarang dokumen mengenai penyelewengan yang membabitkan Menteri Besar Selangor ketika itu, Dato' Seri Mohd Khir Toyo.

Saya dimaklumkan Ezam begitu beriya-iya meminta dibekalkan bahan-bahan untuk membantunya berkempen membantu pembangkang, khususnya PAS dalam Pilihan Raya Umum ke 12.

"Ah! Engkau pedulikan sahaja dia tu, dia dah kena beli dengan Khairy (Khairy Jamaluddin)," dakwa seorang bekas Setiausaha Anwar. "Kami dapat maklumat dari budak-budak Gerak, RM1 juta dah masuk dalam akaun dari Norza (Dato' Norza Zakaria, Ahli Majlis Tetinggi Umno, yang dikaitkan sebagai kroni rapat menantu PM itu), budak Khairy."

Soal Ezam hendak masuk Umno, bukannya perkara baru. Maka Ezam tidak boleh mengelak untuk dikaitkan dengan persepsi bahawa, perundingan beliau masuk Umno barangkali membabitkan soal jawatan dan 'peruntukan'”

Persoalan mengapa Ezam meminta dokumen mengenai Khir Toyo terjawab. Khairy dikatakan tidak menyukai bekas MB Selangor itu dan berusaha untuk menjatuhkannya dengan menggunakan Ezam.

Ezam pula hendak masuk Umno atas alasan Abdullah sudah mengubah Umno dan kerajaan.

Tidak boleh dinafikan wujud persepsi bahawa Ezam masih agen Anwar Ibrahim. Dalam keadaan sekarang, ada kalangan ahli Umno yang bimbang, Ezam boleh digunakan Anwar untuk menambahkan kerosakan dalam Umno.

Very interesting to read this Harakah article on Ezam, take it with a little pinch of salt.

Islam Hadhari was launched with much pompous and money but grossly failed to become PM’s desired legacy to reform Islam. Most of those who saw on TV Ezam’s application to rejoin would be surprised at arranged splendor of the welcoming function. Most of us would also agree that SIL was instrumental in hoping to bring in Ezam and his ex-PKR entourage into UMNO.

Questions

1. What new themes are these ex-PKR boys bringing into Pemuda UMNO besides enhancing and linking up to PM’s proposed populist reforms? The slant of religious favor is quiet evident in the prelimeney statements of the ex-PKR chaps.Will they be “Liberal” Islam Hadhari zealots like the type favored and propogated by the US Administration and western powers similar to the ideals of the Foundation of the Future or the form of liberal Islam advanced by the many Malay Islamist socialists found in PKR and DAP?

2. Are the proposed populist reforms perpectuated by PM or by SIL with his 4^th Floor boys now found to be floundering and require new super actors to come to the rescue or have these been planned well in advance to prepare the stage for these new actors?

3. What’s the real game plan of SIL since he is central in bringing these ex-PKR boys into possibly the nucleus of Pemuda UMNO? Is SIL dreaming to continue being the puppet master of Pemuda UMNO by letting Ezam be his dark horse against the genuine contestents for the Ketua Pemuda UMNO position so that the real black sheep of UMNO i.e SIL can continue holding officially the no 2 position?

Update: Ezam’s 2 hours “Pengakuan Ezam” in Malaysiakini is not an eye-opener but more of eyes wash and deception perhaps to prepare the mindset of Pemuda UMNO to readily accept the “keiklasan” of Ezam under the whims and fancies of SIL. All the gala and huha is the typical type of Freedom of the Press/ Media played the SIL to achieve his desired propoganda. Let’s be honest, all the disclosures, the historical storyline by Ezam is non-relevant except that the UMNO names Ezam refered to have coaxed him into re-joining UMNO are SIL’s kunchu-kuncu. Thus can UMNO specifically and the Silent Majority generally accept another foolhardy ill conceived strategist game plan initiated by SIL?

4. SIL is deemed responsible for the too many unforgivable disasters and failures of UMNO, BN and the country and that reality is imprinted deep in everyone’s mind. SIL’s only little perceived value left in UMNO is his slim win in the Rembau Parlimentary seat; should not SIL just remain as an ordinary member of parliament and lay his hands completely off UMNO youth and not interfere in the security and strategic directions and issues of country? No form of good governance can be assured for this beloved country unless the party does away with SIL and his disgusting ways! SIL better in solitude to concentrate on retaining his seat in parliment.

5. UMNO and Pemuda UMNO grassroots conciously dislike curse and at best cynical of these new zealots of SIL. All the fanfare created by SIL for Ezam’s entry should not deminish such grassroots’s negative perception irrespective even if SIL dishes more bucks. At this lowest ebb in its history, can UMNO afford another mis-adventure by SIL with the ex-PKR youth leaders? To go against the populous tide of swealing disgust against No.1 and the 1^st Family is no longer reverseable and UMNO is doomed to failure. MT UMNO tak faham-faham lagi ke? Hopefuly the grassroots will reject outright these ex-PKR boys and let the SIL be left in solitude sulking over his latest disastrous “brilliant” endeavour.

Last couple of days at several functions I attended, I did a spot check again with several members of the public and the general perception at every spectre is the same: PM and the 1^st Family must go. What has happened to our beloved country, it seemed totally lost, unrecognizable and going no where? When asked whether these new actors can sway such entrenched public opinion; there was more disgust in their laughter than anything else.

6. To impress and appease the Silent Majority, will these ex-PKR youth leaders come forth with some central theme or idealism about new Malay Islam unity (the hallmarks of DSAI) in trying to bridge the gaps amongst the supposed divided Malay and Muslim communities under UMNO, PAS and PKR? For sure, the days of DSAI’s Reformasi are already back except this time DSAI has his boys invited deep inside UMNO to carry out such agenda. Let us not forget, the disastrous performance of BN at GE12 was not due to UMNO but the protest votes against PM and the 1^st Family.

7. The rift between these boys with DSAI is actually not serious. The growing perception of a PM-DSAI-SIL-Ezam- PKR plot runs wild with much rage and disgust among the Malay populace. In the days to come, will we see more of Tun’s remarkable words of wisdom “UMNO Bukan Lagi UMNO”, “Pemimpin Pemusnah”, “Perjuangan Yang Belum Selesai” etc? Many including Tun has already remarked that Ezam is a possible Trojan hours.

8. Who is these ex-PKR youth leaders are trying, under SIL grandeur plots, promote as the next great statesman of Malaysia– PM, DSAI or SIL?

These are common but critical isssues and questions currently and persistently lurking in the minds of the very concern Silent Majority after having seen the peace and tranquility of this country shattered by ill considered populist policies of the incompetent and power crazy SIL while his “senile” father-in-law at.helm of the country continues his deep sleep. The entry of these ex-PKR punks into UMNO will likely become UMNO’s Brutus in the Making.
