This is what I commented at a blog which published that each of the ex-justices received RM1.5M each of ex-gratia payment.
KARUT……..that’s all the ex-gratia payments are about, abusing the rakyat’s money and resources!
Zaid had made one of his biggest blunders when he exhumed the Tun Salleh case, all in the name of judiciary reform. When the truth came out about the other side of Tun Salleh’s character, the prominent role played by the Agong then and the refusal by the AG to apologize on the matter, suddenly Zaid must have realized what a fool he made of himself and PM. A fool as he is, he dared not acknowledge that he could have been wrong in this exhumation and so he proceeded with his gesture on the ex-gratia payment to appease a tiny section of the population namely the Malaysian Bar Council, the Opposition leaders and human rights activists and of course within PM’s inner circle. The money from the ex-gratia did not come from his pocket, so he doesn’t give a damn so long he got some publicity. Zaid refused to realize that the bulk of the Silent Majority could see his true colors, rather he wish to live in his own world of fantasy.
Zaid has done too much SPIN, wasting the rakyat’s resources and endangering the rakyat’s future with his foolish populist cum liberal legal reforms especially at this point in time of grave political and economic uncertainties. The most honorable act for him is to reimburse from his own pocket all payments made relating to the ex-gratia payment and leave the cabinet soonest.
