THE WORLD ALLAH – PART 6: NOW, SIKHS WANT TO BE PART OF SUIT OVER THE WORD ALLAH

Interesting, after so long, the Malaysian Gurdwaras Council said the word “Allah” in reference to God was an integral part of the original version of the Sikh holy book, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and such has become the latest party seeking to intervene in the suit by the Catholic Church over the use of the word “Allah.” As such, its President said, no followers of the Sikh religion would tolerate any form of obstruction on the use of the original terms taken from the holy book.

I wonder whose next from the MCCBCHS (Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism), after digging (korek and korek) into their holy books, will join into the fray confirming that the word “Allah” is indeed part and parcel in their religion.

I am still waiting for PAS to intervene as the Party has always pronounced that only joining the Party, the faithful are assured place in heaven. Being among the faithful, PAS must know how dear the word Allah is to its members and now Allah has been wrongly associated in similar status with Trinity and the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. PAS’s intervention and their confirmation on this matter should be in priority compared to interfering in the affairs in the running the Selangor and Perak mosque councils. PAS stand should be consistent with its earlier standing against the formation of the Interfaith Commission; is PAS also a flip flop party or incapacitated by its political associations in Pakatan Rakyat in making a holy judgment?

I do not wish to seek any response from DSAI, the defacto leader of Pakatan Rakyat, because he’s under unimaginable influence of the US administration which propagates religious tolerances amidst greater freedom and liberty.

Nonetheless, I would also hope to hear from PM and the defacto Minister in charge of Islamic Affairs about their confirm views on the word Allah as sought by the Catholic Church and the Sikh community; because is it not PM who was responsible for such hopes on liberal and tolerant reforms in this country that so many issues have got out of hand causing immense political and social instability, besides being a graduate in Islamic Studies as well as being the son of a well known ulama. Please do not be captivated by the Malaysian Malaysia’s concept that the majority of our population, (the Muslims?), have changed and is a matured lot since the past 10 years.

Finally this issue should be brought forward for deliberations at the UMNO elections for a united stand and in togetherness with other Malay/ Islamic NGOs and the religious councils under the patronage of the Agong and Sultans. The paramount use of the word Allah should be given equivalent if not given greater status than the existing social contract for deliberations. Along with this issue, neutralize the core origination of many of the Malaysians’ aches – the Malaysian Bar Council and its hoard of human rights activists.

The sanctity of the Muslim faith is being threatened; UMNO members should not be ignorant and allow unnecessary calamity to befall on the Muslim faithful, it is an issue pertaining to the UMMAH of this country and UMNO should take rightfully take the lead in supporting the role of the Agong/ Sultan if it considers itself the Party representing the Malays.
