The Symbolic Kris

I see little reasons in supporting Hishammudin in his apologies about the kris - he did so as a critical part of his damage control in vying the VP post. He could also have been forced by those behind the scenes who want him as the fall guy for one of the apparent causes for PM’s setbacks. The unsheathing of the kris, a minor issue, was made big and capitalized extensively by certain quarters especially the DAP and those new con Melayu who have forgotten their roots. The present leadership, as usual, had failed to spin the issue in UMNO’s favor and continues to stand on wobbly footing; this was just another attempt of populist acts that the leadership and his cronies of nincompoop advisers desperately tries to retrieve lost grounds. Thus, it was foolish for Hishammudin to take the brunt being the scrape goat while the prime mover goes scout free.

I am glad that there are many of us who disagrees with Hishammudin’s action; let us not fear and demonstrate that the spirit of “Melayu Jati” is very much vibrant. Let those sinister Malaysians continue to make a mockery over his apology as they watch the call for Ketuanan Melayu gets getting stronger, louder and relevant
